Face colors, lettering, numbers, markings in very good condition. Odometer numbers easy to read, not sun faded or peeling off. Chucked the speedometer in an electric drill and ran the drill varying the speed for 2 miles. The needle rises and falls with the varying speed and the odometer advances from tenths to miles. NOTE: This is a magnetically-driven speedometer.
Over the decades it may have lost some of its magnetic charge. If so it may not register the correct speed. When new, it was calibrated by magnetizing the permanent magnet to factory specifications. If this speedometer does not register correct speed it will need to be re-calibrated by a speedometer repair shop which has the equipment to perform this magnetic re-calibration. Bench tested Fuel gauge by applying a voltage.
Needle reacts and move on gauge confirming electrical continuity. Clock disassembled, cleaned, inspected, bench tested. Clock contact points which are part of the electrical rewind circuit cleaned, dressed.Lubricated movement's balance wheel, oscillator bar, escapement drive gear, gear pivot holes with synthetic watch oil. Connected clock to a power source and ran clock 24 hours. Integrated circuit on back of housing was tested and it has electrical continuity. NOTE: Clock chrome time adjustment knob and the clear plastic speedometer lens are not included.
The hard work is done. Disassembled, cleaned, inspected, bench tested. I have provided an honest assessment of the instrument clusters current condition and due to the decades old age and unknown history of this instrument cluster, I make no guarantees.
